Abstract

Ghazal is the famous form of Urdu poetry. It has been a conduit of sentiments of all kinds before and after the establishment of Pakistan. The movement for an independent state for the Muslims of Indo-Pak Subcontinent, the phenomenon of migration and its resultant sufferings all has been the topics of Urdu Ghazl written after setting up of Pakistan in 1947. The stream of literature remained flowing as usual and with no differentiating between literary pursuits before and after the partition.
