Culture is an important subject in Urdu criticism. Before and after the creation of Pakistan, almost all important critics have penned down their thoughts about it. After the creation of Pakistan, the discussions on the Islamic Culture and the Pakistani Culture permeated into Urdu literature.  Many critics took part in this discussion. Prominent figures among them are Muhammad Hasan Askari, Dr. Jameel Jalbi, Sajjad Baqar Rizvi, Jeelani Kamran, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi and Dr. Syed Abdullah. In this article, the opinions of some important critics have been summarily evaluated.
