The erstwhile state of Swat has been a peaceful valley since time immemorial. It is widely renowned for its scenic beauty. People of Swat are very peaceful and simple. But unluckily, this beautiful valley has seen some worst days of its history when it fell into the hands of terrorists who played havoc with the fate of its residents. The Swat people went through tremendous hardships during this time. Naturally, the sufferings of the people of Swat got inroads into works of poets and author of the valley. This article is an effort to remember those sorrowful days in light of writings of poets and authors belonging to Malakand Division.
