Abstract
Ismat Chughtai is one of Urdu's most accomplished fiction writers, epitomized the 20th century. Her novel Tehri Lakeer and Ziddi are consisdered among the best of Urdu novels. Ismat employed narrative of education as foundation to the formation of an emancipated girl in her novel Tehri Lakeer. Her other novel Ziddi is also of great standing. This article discusses progressiveness of Ismat Chughtai with refernce to her two famous said novels
