Abstract

The structure of a word depends on its alphabetic letters. If letters are not formed in accordance with the rules of a specific language, irregularity and disharmony prevail. It affects the validity, effectiveness and beauty of its script. The primary scope of the script of a language is its correct dictation. Being the national language of Pakistan, Urdu must be written in a correct way following the set rules of its orthography in order to achieve national harmony and to promote Urdu language and literature. The article is an effort to highlight the importance of correct and valid orthography for Urdu.
