Abstract
Lalla Arifa is the first great Kashmiri saint poetess, who defied social conventions and proceeded on the journey of self-realization. She was the pioneer of the style of mystic poetry in Kashmiri literature. Her poetry is an emblem of humanism and a treasure of wisdom, faith, love and truth which is unmatched till date. This paper highlights her poetical contribution to enriching mystics/spiritual traditions and her profound impact in shaping Kashmiri society.
