Abstract
Akbar Hameedi was not only a poet but also a good sketch writer of Urdu language. He wrote two books on sketch: Qadd-e-Adam and Chhoti Dunya Baray Log. He covered literary as well as common folks in these books. Captivating style of narration of unknown people is the salient feature of his sketches. It is rather difficult to write pen sketches of one's family members, but Hameedi wrote very striking character sketches of his close relatives, and instilled life in them. He also highlighted social and cultural aspects of rural life through these sketches.
