Abstract

Allama Iqbal admired the greatness of the fabulous brains of his ancestors and of his own era by mentioning their names in his poetry, highlighting their ideology. There are more than fifty poems having title on the names of personalities who left lasting impact on the people. One such poem is titled as “Swami Ram Tirath” which is included in “Bang e Dara”. Initially, it was comprised of seven coupelets later on Allama Iqbal resized it to six couplets. In this poem Iqbal has praised the thoughts of Swami Raam Tirath. The article is about Allama Iqbal’s said poem written in honour of a Hindu saint Sawami Ram Tirath.
