Abstract

Modern Urdu poem has various metaphoric dimensions. Human, social and metaphysical questions, creation of man and the world, concepts of time and man’s religious wisdom created these metaphoric dimensions. One of them is to depict the hidden concepts of Mi’raj un Nabi (PBUH) such as Man's glory and his expected lead to conquest of material and spiritual world as well. Mythical, historical and metaphysical references related to Mi’raj have been illustrated in Urdu poem directly or indirectly, which shows that how these aspects get symbolic expressions through the unconsciousness of poet.
